In his mid 20’s, after having built and sold his own home, his interests led him into the world of industrial construction. Working for some of the world’s largest corporations, he contributed to significant industrial projects in Northern Canada, earning his journeyman’s ticket in Steamfitting/Pipefitting and equipping him with a discerning eye to help his clients identify and overcome construction-related challenges. In addition, Charles’ Business Management Diploma in Marketing and Sales and subsequent professional experience in this area sharpened his capacity to understand and respond effectively to clients’ needs. Graduating with honours, he learned the art of bringing products and services to market, which allowed him to quickly excel in both business-to-business territory management and business-to-consumer advisory roles. He was a top performer in his field and his specified product-focused marketing campaigns won him the provincial business award for outstanding performance. In addition, Charles was hand-picked to represent Canada at The World International Business Case Competition in Qatar.

On the personal side, Charles’ formative years were character-building. Born in the heart of winter in Whitehorse, he moved to Vancouver Island at age 2. As a boy, Charles spent three years at sea with his family circumnavigating the Pacific Ocean. This extraordinary opportunity fostered his ability to be responsive, tenacious, and take initiative in creating practical solutions for complex situations. He is compassionate, intelligent, outgoing, and sincerely devoted to his personal relationships, community, and career. Currently, a native Nanaimo resident, is committed to making his city a better place.
